Sam Octigan, Sahil Silkroy , Marcus Dixon amd Michael Danischewski will all have pieces in this show.

UPFRONT is a celebration of T-shirt culture and T-shirt art for those that appreciate the difference between images that are meant to be worn and those that aren’t. The exhibition features established and emerging artists from Australia and from other far reaches of the globe.

The event will take place on the 19th of April at Curve Gallery, 37 Watt St Newcastle starting at 6pm and going through the evening.

20 artists have been chosen to produce a print for the front of a T-shirt, each to be printed in a limited edition of 15 equalling 300 shirts in total. The artworks will also be available as screen prints on custom sized 330gsm Spicers paper.

The 20 artists are:

Alex Lehours, Andrew Fairclough, Andy Murphy, Ben Brown, Bryan Schnelle, Callum Preston, Cameron Locklee, French, The Good Eggs, The Hungry Workshop, Jacob Rolfe, Justin Hager, James Hartley, Marcus Dixon, Michael Danischewski, Numskull, Silk Roy, Sam Octigan, Trent Evans, and William Brown

SHIRTS: $40
PRINTS: $20
Plus combination packs to be announced.

Some independent labels will also be on show/for sale on the event. These labels are Ruler Melbourne, Pass-Port, Malade, Chopkooks, Deadly Garments, The Bowery, AGD, Zekahene and The Hollow Bones Co.

PLUS A LIMITED EDITION, 80 PAGE MAGAZINE & POSTER TO BE RELEASED ON THE NIGHT.

The exhibition will run for one week after opening night.

There will be plenty of booze, stickers and good times.

Here is the latest video ive made, featuring Sofles, Twoone and Bonsai creating a huge mural out in Roxburgh Park. Really cool to see a centre that far out embracing art as part of its design. Was great fun to make, props to Daltron Labs for the Heli Cam footage.

Pleased to have a cool little Sub interview as part of the 10 page Violent Soho feature.

The awesome Bianca (who happens to be 2011 zine maker of the year!) did the feature and went at it deep enough to actually track me down and ask me about how the art for the Violent Soho record came about, really great to be featured and that people are pushing to create interesting content.

I thought i would post this here now that the Aus leg of the Parkway Drive tour has finished. I was asked to create some visuals for the giant projector screen that they have been using behind them for the Atlas tour in Europe and now Australia. This is what i did for “Killing with a smile”, but it has also been used for “Swing” which is probably my favorite song on the new record, so im stoked.

It’s made up of a mix of footage that i have shot both specially for this project and found while digging through my hardrives. It was shot on a mix of Canon 7d, a Fuji “Tough” point and shoot that i eventually lost in a lake in Northern California after a ropeswing went pear shaped and some was shot on my first ever camera, A Panasonic VHS Handycam that I got for xmas in 1997.

Totally new project for me, I have never had my work used in this way so its really cool to watch my great friends in Parkway in my home town to a full house at Festival Hall with my work on the screen.

A little while back, Afends offered to bring me up to byron for a weekend to come hang, skate, paint some stuff and well..be in Byron Bay, why wouldnt I go. Anyway, we painted this rad DIY skatespot that Afends built. Its rad to see money being put into art and skating, Its important, it sure as hell helped me along my way.

Check the video. This was a gnarly surface to skate, all these dudes are ripping it.
